My hope for CampAnime is to take everything I've learned from other shows and add a little bit more. I want to do a show that's unique to me. I've always gone to shows and there has been that one thing that I would see and think to myself "Wow, that's cool but I wonder what would happen if they did this as well" .So we will do Karaoke with a live band, we will  participate in Japanese game shows, we can learn how to make Mochi and deconstruct Pocky .Cosplay Dodgeball ,Archery and I'd love to do Human Tetris...I just haven't figured out how to yet. 2 months to figure out Human Tetris...anyone have any ideas?   -- Matt DeRoma, Founder

Frequently Asked Questions
  •  What if it rains?
Don't worry we still have 14 indoor conference rooms and tons of indoor events planned. Fingers crossed though for a nice sunny weekend. Bring your bathing suit and let's hope for the best. ^_^

  •  Any chance I can get some free tickets?
Volunteer and get $10 off admission. Active or retired military members and their family get free passes (military ID required). If any school wishes to make CampAnime a school field trip I will gladly give them free passes to the con so long as they let me by 8/7/2012. Please note that the passes are for the con only and do not include meals or lodging.

  •  Is it like a camp where you sleep in a tent, don't shower and go to the bathroom in the woods?
It is a more modern camp and you sleep in a cabin, there are multiple indoor showers (men and women have separate bathrooms) and toilets so please shower daily and don't poop in the woods.
Please not that they are shared cabins and you must bring your own linens and pillows.

  • Can I stay in a cabin with my family or friends....does it have to be 8-12 people per cabin.
You can stay with whomever you wish, just let me know where you want to be assigned. We can have as few as 4 people per cabin so if you want a semi private one let us know, we will do our best to provide one. If you want to hang with a large group of friends (16-30) let us know that as well as there are cabins to accommodate every need.
Please note that the lodging rate is per person and not per cabin and group rates are available.

  •  I'm a parent...do I need to pay admission if I'm with my child?                                     No, you do not. As long as you're with your child you get in for free. It's kind of a reverse of the kids get in for free thing at other conventions. We are really trying to encourage parents to come and spend the weekend with their kids. We understand that you probably have no idea what is going this weekend but our goal is to make sure you end up enjoying the con with your family. The East con ops room will also be devoted to parents who need to unwind for a bit. It has a kitchen, a great view of the lake and some comfy couches so feel free to stop by grab a cup of coffee and watch the sunset.
  • Can I bring liquor to the con.
 No...the answer is no.
  • You offer free admission to schools if they wish to do a field trip to the con. Does the offer include free meals and free lodging.
I envisioned school field trips as 1 day events but if you wish to stay the weekend that is fine. Meals and lodging however are not offered in the free admission deal. Meals and lodging are up to you, you may stay at the camp for the posted prices or at a local hotel. As of now, there is a group rate for lodging and food. A group of 4 or more will get a $10 discount off the weekend price (2 nights plus 6 meals) or $10 off the one day rate (1 night and 4 meals). All I ask is that you submit your request for tickets by 8/7/2012.

  • Since there is an archery range can I bring a real bow with arrows?
No, the YMCA will provide the bows and we have a no weapons policy at the show so no real weapons of ANY kind are permitted.
